As the Engineering Manager at Manulife Financial, I led two teams—one onsite and one offshore, working on a dynamic mix of Azure, Node.js, .NET, and React projects. My role was to harmonize their unique strengths for optimal innovation and quality.
I strategically balanced the teams, capitalizing on the onsite team’s immediate collaboration potential and the offshore team’s cost-efficiency and scalability. This approach ensured efficient resource allocation, consistent quality, and skill development. Facilitating seamless communication and orchestrating project workflows, I steered the cool synergy between these teams to drive cutting-edge technology in Azure, Node.js, .NET, and React for Manulife Financial.
In my role as the founder of UnivFax.com, I played a pivotal role in our web development journey. I harnessed my expertise in JavaScript, HTML5, JSON, and Angular 1.5 to create dynamic web applications that engaged our audience. Moreover, I fine-tuned our website’s source code and ensured a seamless experience for mobile users by working with CSS3 and Bootstrap. We also ventured into the realm of mapping and search functionalities, employing the Google Maps API and AngularJS, backed by NodeJS.
Beyond technical prowess, I was also the strategic visionary of the operation. I delved into extensive market research and analyzed industry trends to chart our course forward. This knowledge informed our targeted marketing efforts, which not only introduced innovative services but also elevated the visibility of our offerings. Furthermore, I took the reins of our social media marketing, publicity, and customer communications. The results were tangible, as UnivFax.com garnered recognition by being featured on CTV Canada news and securing a spot on the prestigious “20 Innovative Halifax start-ups to watch out for in 2017” list. 🚀
